Expand Your Definition of What a Truck Can Be

Just because Ford has gone electric doesn’t mean that its durability has weakened. With you at the helm of the 2022 F-150 Lightning, you’ll have standard 4x4 drive, allowing you to make the most of an exhilarating ride with the dual electric motors and lithium-ion battery. The battery is protected by a high-strength steel frame, military-grade aluminum alloy body to make your adventures off-roading a lot more secure. This F-150 Lightning also can be upgraded to have the extended-range battery which will have you at a targeted peak power of 563 horsepower.1 All that and a maximum payload of up to 2,000 pounds will give you all you need to get any job done.2

While the F-150 Lightning may be going electric, Ford didn’t stray from capability. A feature that has become standard in all F-150 Lightning models, the Mega Power Frunk is a 400-liter front trunk that can haul up to 400 pounds of whatever you need for the day. You’re also able to remotely open the Mega Power Frunk with your own FordPass™ app.3 It’s equipped with lights, USB chargers and four Pro Power Onboard 120-volt outlets that make using power tools feel like a chore. The inside of the Frunk is washable and drainable in case of any messes that may take place. The Frunk also offers an integrated table, a stereo system and other features like grocery hooks, tie-downs, a cargo net and a multi-function lid divider. This new feature will double the storage space you need for any adventure necessary.

Ford continues to impress and it doesn’t stop when you reach the F-150 Lightning model’s interior. You’ll be able to control all with a standard SYNC® 4 12.0-inch landscape touchscreen, or the SYNC® 4A 15.5-inch portrait-style touchscreen if you decide to upgrade. Both will give you access to all apps and FordPass™ Power My Trip, which will give you the ability to plan your trips ahead of time in the vehicle’s SYNC® screen. And when you’re looking at the road in front of you, don’t be afraid to use the Intelligent Range feature to calculate the range of your vehicle in certain weather conditions. Your F-150 Lightning will give you updates on your estimated range depending on different terrain or anything that you may need to haul. And while you'll have the latest features, over-the-air Software Updates will be able to download the most recent upgrades to enhance your capability and ride.

Charging is going to become your favorite new feature. It’ll make stopping at a gas station feel like an old habit. All you’ll need to use is the included charge cord with a standard outlet, a 240-volt NEMA 15-50 outlet or an installed Ford Connected Charge Station. And when you’re looking to charge up, use your phone and access the FordPass™ charging network to know where to find those DC fast chargers. From time to time you may need to stop for a charge, but with a targeted EPA-estimated 230-mile range on the standard-range battery,4 it shouldn’t be that often. And while a 230-mile range sounds far, upgrade to the extended-range battery for a targeted EPA-estimated 300-mile range. 4 In the event of a power outage, you’ll also have the opportunity to use your Ford Intelligent Backup Power. This allows you to use your truck as a backup power source to your home, and can give you power for three days.5
